Tried this place for the first time tgis morning with my daughter. From the time we sat down at the counter to our order being taken to food being placed in front of us was id say less than 10 minutes. Very fast service good food good prices good hours. Great little neighborhood spot

The original owners broke up, sold the place, and the new owner is slowly taking over with the intent to change the name and approach. Currently, it's cash only and when it's time to pay your waitress will awkwardly walk you through the kitchen and through the back door to the neighboring, closed and filled with junk bar so you can get some cash.

The breath of fresh air (and sass!) the previous owners brought to this establishment is looooong gone, and the waitress let me know the new owner plans to make things more approachable and family-friendly, with new TVs on the wall of the bar. (bummer but it does make sense for the area...)

R.I.P. MHD. We likely won't be back but I wish the best of luck to the new owner and a lot of love to the previous.

Atmosphere - OK. This is a very small restaurant that is situated in what appears to be a small, modified house. It would be more appropriate to label this as a family restaurant. There is a combination of booths and table, along with a very small counter seating area. In total, the restaurant may not seat more than 30 people. There is nothing particularly homey or welcoming. The furnishings must be more than 30 years old.

Service - poor. There were only two tables/booths of patrons when we ordered, and only one table was seated shortly thereafter. However, it took more than 15 minutes before our drink order and soup was delivered!

Food - average. Had a cup of beef barley soup, which was nearly a bowl size portion. The soup was bland and served warm, at best. I ordered the chopped sirloin dinner with mashed potatoes. Despite the fact that the meat was smothered in brown gravy and onions, it too was bland. My wife (who did a review of her experience) felt similarly.

Overall - a time and money waster. I absolutely love dinners! I seek them out wherever we travel. To be honest, I would have been happier dining at a fast food restaurant, which I never thought I would say.

We were starving after playing in a nearby Pickleball tournament and this diner was suggested by the Holiday Inn Express.  It's a small, old fashioned type diner with a few booths and more tables, along with the grill being right up front.   The place needs a deep clean.

I started with the chicken noodle soup, and although it had more chicken than you usually see, the broth was bland.   I opted for a patty melt with fries.    I had asked for medium well, but there was loads of pink in it which I am not a fan of in ground meat.  The sandwich was tasteless.  Normally you can taste the rye bread and the onions, but not this one.  You only tasted greasy ground meat.  I even had my husband try it thinking maybe it was just me.  He felt the same way.   The only good thing was the fries.

For $37 we both ate, but I wished I had gone to Wendy's instead.

My House Diner isn't Spago, but for what it is, it's great.

HOURS:  The first thing to know is that they have great hours.  To accommodate hard working men and women, MHD opens its doors everyday at 6 am...none of this 8 am sissy crap.

WEEKEND HOURS:  Especially great are the weekend hours. On Thursday, they open at 6 am, and they don't close until 3 pm on Sunday!  Weekend warriors...THIS is where you come to trough after a hard night of partying.

FOOD:  MHD was a really interesting take on a Toledo staple, the hot roast beef sandwich.  What makes it different, is that the bread is toasted.  This really helps create an interesting texture.  And although the flavor doesn't stack up to the Red Wells product (nothing does, actually), it's still quite satisfying.

MORE FOOD:  With regard to another Toledo staple, MHD comes up short.  I'd skip the chili mac. This is the one product that I've had here that I didn't like.

EVEN MORE FOOD:  The burgers and omelette are great.  Always cooked perfectly, and full of flavor.  Check out pix yet?  Yeah?  Enough said.

SERVICE:  F.F.A.  Fast, friendly, and accurate.  The service has never been an issue.

ATMOSPHERE:  Nothing special, but it's clean.  The crapper, at least the men's, is clean, too.

ALCOHOL:  I could be wrong but I don't think they have any.  There is, however, a bar next door if you must imbibe constantly.  There's no EtOH, but MHD does have a nice selection of hot sauce...it's not booze, but it'll put a little fire in your belly, in a different way.

    PRICE:  Cheap, like you'd expect.

In short, My House Diner is good.  If you've been drinking, it's really good.  Stop here once in a while.
